It's that time of year... again. Between doing my podcast, getting work approved for my prints (more are coming, I swear!) and job hunting, I am gearing up for the insanity which is NaNoWriMo... other wise known as National Novel Writing Month.

Yup, I am going to do it yet again, but this time, I might actually post it here on Deviantart!

The title of the story is Insanity Is The Key To The Truth and it is based loosely on a THREE year long Call of Cthulhu RPG session that I have had with two of the three main characters. The third main character comes from an old Pirates RP that my husband and I did when we were just friends. I miss writing these guys and I will be introducing Ezra Thompson, Leigh Anderson, and Paige Hanover to you guys very soon!

Oh and guess what? [link] Join the Wonderland Underground Family for the podcast specials and extra bits and pieces. We try to post it every Wednesday every week. lol

LIVESTREAM: [link]
For The RIFT EXTRA LIFE 24 Hour event! Come listen to my guild mates insanity!

Where did the time go? With my work at my own development studio, White Rabbit Shadows, and my audio work for NeoSpawn Games moving full steam ahead... I kinda have forgotten (HONEST!) about logging in and posting updates here.

Because of that, I have a nice back up of Mini prints that need to be scanned, colored, and printed for the holiday season.  With NaNoWriMo around the corner, be prepared for the word flood.

I hope to see a ton of great photos of NYCC since I wasn't able to make it (again), but with all the good things that are coming my way next year, it was worth skipping out. :P

See ya around!
Malice <3

~~~~~~
I will be selling prints through Cafepress because I feel that their prices are better (as with the quality). I will be posting a link to all shops in the description of all the prints that will be available.
Thank you so much for catching/watching/asking a million questions me at the Sakura Festival. I wish you the best of luck for the rest of the year!
There is the link to my shop! [link]
Please be patient with me since I am still in the process of getting everything organized and moved from the old shops to my new one. I know that they are a bit pricey, but again, their products are of amazing quality!
Much Love,
Miss Malice
I am going to be at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens Sakura Matsuri this weekend! I might have prints (doubtful, but hopeful) and a kick ass business postcard in four delightful designs.
As for cosplay, it will be a wonderful leap in LARP territory!
Looks like as of now, I am staying with dA. I thought it over and came to the conculsion that I do enjoy the community a bit more than I realized. I am hoping to have a few more years and a few more watchers.
I am currently working on my blog and hopefully, I can start moving things over there.
Thank you guys!
I am not sure if I want to continue on dA.
I am interested in what people actually think about my art, but I get very little to no feed back. Because of this, I haven't been posting much recently, then again, dA isn't known to be writer friend. Most of my work is the written word, but I happen to know that it won't be read here. That has been difficult because I have so many stories to share.
With that being said, I have been here for SIX years! So I have seen the ups, downs, pros and cons of this site. When I started it was a place for artists to share their creations, but now it has devolved into a bit of a mess (a picture of a penis isn't art). I have met some super wonderful people here, so that is another thing that has been holding me back from leaving. However, I have been feeling disconnected from the overall community. I have also been so busy between being a co-developer for three games and finding a job, I am feeling so burnt out.
Sorry for allowing my Emo kid out of it's box. *Shoves her back in*
I hope you guys understand.
!!EDIT!!
I never thought that I would be back posting art, but I have to thank *DuetMaxwell for allowing me to use her scanner and cause a general ruckus. I hope that you guys enjoys my gallery and for sticking with me for so many years! I hope that you enjoy my "what is this?!" art as I love producing it! As for prints, I am pretty sure that I am going to wait on that unless you are attending the Sakura Festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens (I will have some with me... I hope).
I AM CURRENTLY SOLD OUT OF SOAP! Sorry, I really am, but I have been busy with a lot of things to slow down and make more.
We tend not to get along, but I have some awesome news! I have graduated with my degree and out looking for an actual paying job. As for now, I don't have one, but I will getting an interview next week! I am still working on my podcast which was put on hold for my finals project
I have been working on a lot of things that I will not be posting here on dA. As much as I want to share, I can't until I get permission. Yup, I got a secret project going on and I am not going to share anymore details. Ohhhhh *wiggles her fingers* Everyone likes a good mystery right?
As for my podcast, I am actually still working on it! *le Gasp!* I know that it is a bit shocking to most people, but don't be surprised! I will most likely change the format around from being weekly to... whenever we can get it done. Real Life kinda takes over when one is still looking for a job, however, I will be making a website and posting the newer shows there. Until then, I will be posting the updates on a new journal page soon (once I get the show that I am working on finished edited)...
I haven't been to Radio City Music Hall... yet. That will change however in the fall once I get tickets for a new Cirque du Soliel show called Zarkana. I am hoping to go in August before the show runs ends, but it depends if I go home or not to visit.
I am very unhappy with the fact that I am unable to see Totem until next year! The closest showing is Pittsburgh, PA and it is too close to finals time for me to actually take a trip with my love to go visit (we have been meaning to... honest).
If you are sick, please please don't watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Seriously.
I started watching it at 6pm-ish Eastern time and I am still watching it! What the Hell?! Well, I do know why I find it rather enjoyable. It is called NOSTALGIA GOGGLES! Okay, okay, here is the reasons why I am enjoying Lauren Faust version of the show... in a list. What? I :heart: lists, so get over it.
1) The characters aren't flat in personality. I don't remember which pony I grew up liking, but in the new series, I find myself actually identifying with Applejack. Looking around at most of my co-workers, I also have a Rarity, a Pinkie Pie (what is that filly on?!), a Twilight Sparkle, a Rainbow Dash, and a Fluttershy.
2) The stories do have a sense of purpose and a moral... ya know, like back in the day. :XD: They really do have a sense of direction, not "We are here just to do random stuff" (IE Flapjack and Chowder, which also I like so Pffft). While the show is directed at younger girls, I will admit that they have inspired me a bit when I am down and out for the count. It's a bit like the Powerpuff Girls in that aspect...
3) The pop culture references aren't always in your face. Oh and they are some times not even relevant to this decade. I found myself in one episode count the number of throw-back Cutie marks. What is sad, is that I also knew which ones that I had. Kinda scary no? Anyway, I like the fact that this show does some minor references to her other projects such as Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends. They are subtle, but if you were a big fan of Foster's, you will catch them. :nod:
4) Ponies rock. Come on, what girl kid didn't want a pony when they were little?!
So in conclusion of this list (and the fact that I am falling asleep at the keyboard), I happy to say that I might some reasoning behind the strange phenomenon that is MLP:FIM. It is well written and beautifully animated which is nice to see. The stories are wonderfully paced and more often humorous as well as balanced between dark humour and light. The stories they tell are timeless and honestly reach a cord with both the younger and older generations. The characters are more easily identifiable compared to the G1 Ponies, and they are great presentation of the more common personality traits in the real world.
Trust me on this.
I'm a doctor. :)
Well, on to the other part of my journal. Yeah, I am sick due to my alleries. Horrible, yet important antibodies acting up when one is trying to recover is rather annoying. Also, I am pulling out a terrible funk that school and work has left me in and managed to create a half a song (a looping song in progress) in between standing over boiling water to use the steam to help me breathe and watching MLP:FIM. Uh, I didn't start out watching MLP, but I ended up doing so to cheer me up.
I have been working on my website for my group, but I haven't had any real time to really sit down and work on it. The reasons being that I am always working on something a bit more important like uh actual 9-5 job and the music that would be offered on my site. I am also working on my animation soundtrack, and this time I am doing only the soundtrack. It is an interesting challenge and I have been enjoying it so far. Now, I do wish that deviantart would allow us to have some kind of non flash animation related outlet for music (for us people who can't afford a subscription...), but I would like to work with animators.
So, hi guys!
So I am starting to think that I am kinda burnt out on writing for a while. Just finished cobbling chapter 23 of Raven's Maiden, and I will get around to posting that later. Right now, I got some EXCITING NEWS for you guys.
So ya know about me making Youtube videos right? Specifically, my Video Game Philosophy videos. Well, the thing is that Youtube pulled down my Bioshock video before it was even published, so... this is where you guys come in! Where should I post them?
I am really hoping to make it into a solid series and I did put in over three months of work into this one video!
Well, that isn't going to stop me from working on making my music videos... which makes me wonder, would you like some FREE music by me and my good friend Alice?
Drop a comment and let us know!
So, I just found out that writing should be my anger management. I just pounded out 8,000+ words on my phone and on some printer paper. So, here is to finishing (barely) my NaNoWriMo task. I had FUN which is a rarity during the month of November and now... I am going to put all of the writings in a coherent form so you guys can read the results of the madness. I am actually going to polish it a little more so that it can make sense AND possibly get a couple of artists to do a commission for me. I think that you guys will enjoy this as much as I did writing this. Though, I don't think that I killed as much plot bunnies like I was hoping.
PS: I am not even done with my novel. :P
I... might be able to finish. HOLY SHITE!
Now, this is after being in the dark tunnel of depression, stabbing my muse when I tried to ignore it while working Tech Support, and not writing on Thanksgiving. I wrote this week alone 22000+ words. That pushed my word count total to 44,361. Most of them are hand written, so posting to DA for everyone to read is going to take a while and in the end, I am most likely make it even longer due to the fact that I tend to post more details than my handwritten work. I can't wait to actually sit and share it with everyone! This has helped me for the most part to battle this yucky black cloud of depression hanging about me and now I am going to finish it... and hopefully get a conclusion... if not, I will finish it after NaNoWriMo is done! I :heart: my own universe and I hope to expand it.
Well, I was set back big time because I was in the hospital over the weekend. Pain doesn't help when you are trying to struggle through NaNoWriMo. So I am slowly typing it up on the computer, but I have written a good seven chapters (each being a little over a thousand words each) by hand. Mind you, that is a lot of paper and time counting each word, as of right now, it is more comfortable to write in bed than in a computer chair. It hurts while writing this journal.
I will be posting the story up here and even continuing it after NaNoWriMo is done. At least I managed to write the first chapter on the PC before I had to tap out because of pain. So far, I am very very very very far behind, but I am actually catching up faster when not distracted by the computer. :) Chapter 8 and 9 will be done today.
Bye!
So I was talked into doing NaNoWriMo this year after toying around with the idea for the past two years. I am actually interested in the challenge of writing 50,000 words in a month. I am doing actually pretty well considering that I have been working with Alice on getting our game review and education site back up.
Consider that in two and half weeks, I have written little over 30,000 words (that wasn't code).
I think that I might be able to finish since I tend to write fairly long chapters in one sitting. Hopefully, I will be able to post this here since it will be mostly written on my phone because I don't have a laptop...yet. That is my goal for this tax return. I would like to get a nice shiny green Sony Vivo...
Well that is my major announcement. I will be posting a concept. Just drop a line. I promise I won't bite.
Well, luck might have smacked me in the face in the fact that I *MIGHT* be able to go to NYCC/NYAF on Sunday. Keyword here is MIGHT. I have to thank one of my few friends here in NYC for that.
I have to say a might big THANK YOUUUUUUU, to ~JayClassic85 for getting me Domokun (who is going to be hanging out with Kirby, Oni-kun, and Domo-clone) and the NEW Star Wars Forced Unleashed II novel. Dude, something else to read!!! And it is in hardback!
Normally, I try to keep the negativity out of this journal, but man, I just realized that I only see maybe 5 people outside of my husband here in the city. I think that I honestly fail at making friends in the real world. It has been something that I struggled with for a really long time despite the fact that I have been told that I am surprisingly easy to get along with. I think that it is both a blessing and a curse. So far, I have been hiding behind work... uh, work, and gaming with the occasional train trip to hang out with *DuetMaxwell. She is just awesome sauce, I tell ya.
I seriously could use some outside time.
In Other News: I am currently working some Castlevania-related goodies. Need something to distract me right? Looks like I will be working on a Lament of Innocence themed Notebook, as well as a Lord of Shadows Mask (and possible bound book). Might as well put this negativity to good use by creating something.
I have to share this A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Journal entry to written by the oh so awesome :iconsambees:
Follow the [link] to read.
Now this is a response to the fact that the SUPREME COURT is going to have a nice little chat (of terror?) with the ESB about the most WIDELY ENFORCED rating system out there: The ESRB! Now I have done an entire journal about this here ---> [link]
The ESRB was established for people to be come educated about what was actually in the game without being surprised by finding out when they get home. Oh God! They have to read what is on the box or ask someone who has played it! The HORROR! Anyway, I work with developers AND at a retailer so I understand what to say to people who don't play games. I can't count the number of parents that have told their kids to get something else.
So, Parents reading this, Check out the journal that a fellow parent and I wrote together. Go, go educate yourself. It is important to understand why our freedom of speech is being attacked! Video games are no different than books, television, and movies. Hell our rating system is enforced about 20% more than the MPAA. Shocking isn't it?
Enough of my rating, I am going about getting ready for the gaming retail environment.
News:
CRAZY HOLIDAY WORK TIME IS NEARLY UPON RETAIL WORKERS! Ohhh And I can't wait to get Dead Raising 2. Watch out for my Screens of that and Assassin Creed: Brotherhood (and yes, I am getting the Codex Edition so I will attempt to get some people out there better references of the Solider and Harlequin.
Costumes have been just crazy. Right now, I am STILL looking for a bird skull for my wickedly fun villain, Malice Mortis. I will be working on her character sheet.
